How it fits together

The few ideas that explain how Servone apps share people, records and search.

One workspace, one set of people

A workspace is your company's space in Servone. Everyone you invite joins it, and every app inside it uses the same list of people. A person you assign an issue to is the same person you message in Chat, invite to an event and find in the directory.

People belong to departments, which form the org chart. A department can be attached to a project or to chat channels, so new members of the department get access without being added one by one.

Apps are views of the same records

Each app shows one kind of work, and they all sit on the same workspace:

  • Tracker holds projects, issues and sprints.
  • Approvals routes requests to the people who decide them.
  • Calendar holds events, meetings and leave.
  • Chat holds channels and direct messages.
  • Mail shows your own mailbox.
  • Drive stores files and data exports.

Because the records are shared, work does not need to be copied between apps. An issue can come from an email, and a meeting can have its own page.

Permissions follow the person

What you can see and change depends on who you are. Workspace roles are Owner, Maintainer, User and Guest, and a read-only variant of Guest. Private projects and channels are limited to their members.

Maintainers and owners handle setup, such as sprint set-up in a Classic project. Owners start data exports. Anything an AI assistant does through a connection runs with your access and no more.

Notifications in Inbox

Mentions, assignments and finished exports arrive in Inbox, across all apps. Open a notice to jump to the record it is about.

Guests

Someone outside your company can join one video meeting with a guest link, without an account. The link opens only that meeting and stops working about a day after it ends.
